Let’s first examine the root cause of premature skin aging, acne, and many other skin problems so as to figure out how to stop them.

The human skin is the largest organ of our body that plays an important role in protecting and shielding the entire body from moisture, extremely cold temperatures, harmful sun rays, germs, and other toxic substances.

We generally believe that our genome sequence defines the majority of our skin texture and its varied forms but that isn’t entirely true, thanks to the growing environmental crisis! Today more than ever, a person’s skin evolves and changes due to its exposure to its unhealthy habitat. If you could sit down and think about how much toxicity the skin has to endure in our daily lives, you’ll see the bigger picture.

You must have seen the countless numbers of products being manufactured and drilled into our brains so as to protect and nurture our skin. Let me tell you, most of the time these products may not always work for you as they never did for me.

At the age of 20, your skin starts aging, and I’m pretty sure you might’ve seen the changes too. I am a person who doesn’t use any skincare products, and I was so grateful that my skin was always smooth and spotless. I thought not using any products was the secret.

The truth is, up until your early 20’s your skin would still be great, that is if you have a hormonal balance and don’t suffer from acne. But I was so wrong in thinking that my skin would always be spotless, to my surprise I started having pimples and crease lines right after I cross 25.

The type of skin texture you have is an accumulated contribution of many factors. Yes, the gene is involved as equally as your diet, bad habits, irregular sleep cycle, and environmental conditions. So, basically, you can’t hold it responsible to just one of them.

Though I may not have the perfect skin type, I may have learned some effective ways that might help you too. This is a personal journey of mine, and it’s nothing but a trial and error method along the way.

1: The first thing is to understand your skin type and texture.

You need to figure out what skin type you have. Oily, dry, sensitive, or combination. Because they’re the base with which you’ll start creating an effective process that will help you.

2: Sleep cycle, this is something you’ll need to work on rigorously.

Humans like most animals are programmed to sleep at night and work during the day. So, when you break that cycle for any reason, of course, it’ll show on your skin and overall health. You need a minimum of 6-7 hours of sleep in a day and I’m sorry but it has to be during the night unless you have some super abilities that don’t age you.

3: Hydrate. You need to drink a lot of water and flush down all the toxic.

Water is very important for healthy skin. No matter what skin type you have, you need to drink at least 5-6 litres a day.

4: Diet, now this will depend on your skin type and hormones.

So, knowing what your skin type is and how your hormones work is very crucial. You need to plan precisely what food items to stay away from as much as possible. I will be writing another article based on skin types and what food types to avoid very soon, so stay tuned for that if you wanna know more.

5: Environmental condition and pollution.

You need to know the climatic conditions of your area and how it affects your skin. The humidity and moisture in the air, or the dryness, etc. Pollution is everywhere now, so cleansing your skin is a must with a proper PH balanced cleanser. This article may help a lot.

Now that we’ve covered most of the important factors that may break or make your skin’s quality, let’s quickly get into some of my personal tips that will help you further.

Never sleep without a cleanse.

Even though you might wash your face during the daytime, it is important that you cleanse it before you go to sleep. All the pollutants, oil, and other particles that remain on your pores need to be washed off. Doing this before you sleep will help in declogging your pores giving you a fresh start in the morning. Always prefer using a water-based face wash and not something too strong. While buying these products, always study the ingredients used in them, never buy them blindly.

Facial Ice rub.

Now, I don’t know how many of you are already aware of this. But what you do is take an ice cube and rub it all across your face until it melts down totally. Do this in the morning daily, and you’ll see changes quickly. It helps in minimalizing pores and excessive oil production. It tightens your skin and prevents blemishes, acne, pimples, and blackheads. Also, you’ll never feel as fresh as this before.

The internet is full of information, so just don’t blindly follow it. Research as much as you can and ask around people with different skin types and their habits. You are unique after all so what works for others may not work for you.
