When Met Gala got canceled in 2020, it was the least hurtful punch we received that year, but I do believe that some of us the ‘fashion enthusiast’ community had a piece of our hearts chipped off.

The 2020 theme, ‘About Time: Fashion and Duration’ was widely anticipated and one could only guess how that would’ve gone. Nevertheless, it’s the dawn of a new year, and we’re back at it again. The Met Gala 2021 theme has been revealed as ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion’ and I can already hear the countdown in my head. The next Met Gala is set to hit the famous steps on Monday, 3 May 2021. And I don’t know about you but I am so excited to see how they’ve organized the Gala to fit the Covid Manual.

While we are waiting for this glorious annual fundraising for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art‘s Costume Institute let’s shine some light on the past of some of the most eccentric outfits we’ve seen so far. So, grab your gears, whichever that is, a bucket of popcorn or your glasses, and get ready to be Gala-fied!
