Founded in 1946, The Cannes Film Festival has been circulating as one of the top three film festivals internationally alongside the Venice Film Festival in Italy, and the Berlin International Film Festival in Germany.

The festival has an annual preview screening of all new films from different genres around the world including documentaries. It celebrates films around the globe with star-studded invite-only guests including filmmakers, actors, models, producers, artists, etc.

Due to the pandemic, the festival was canceled for 2020, but thankfully this year, it is in full swing. The Palais des Festivals et des Congrès this year is flooded with art, talent, fashion, and all things cinema, and the red carpet is as hot as ever.

The fashion we witnessed at this year’s festival is extravagant I must say. We can’t help but make a list and present them to you. You don’t wanna miss out and we want to document this as a piece in our archives.

Disclaimer: These outfits are all amazing, I am just sharing what I feel about them and no shade at all to the amazing designers that created them.

Spanish actress Ester Expósito wearing Etro.

This dress just fits so perfectly on her. The halter-neck top along with the low-cut skirt flaunts her body beautifully. It gives off a very romantic but fierce look, and look at that train. Also, love her sleek hair, it goes so perfectly well with such a flowy silhouette.

Romanian model Catrinel Marlon in Iris Van Herpen.

This reminds me of the white swan ballerina dress, love the feathers, and the unique design of the shape. Short dresses are underrated for red carpets but I think this white one is a game-changer, also the best part about this dress is that it is made from recycled ocean debris.

Italian model De Panicis in Farhad Re.

This netted mesh dress looks so futuristic and mega. I wish if it fitted her a little better but she looks amazing anyway. I mean not anybody can pull off such a see-through dress that too with sheer elegance.

French model and influencer Didi Stone in Jean Paul Gaultier.

This is definitely a head-turner dress. Just look at those flared sleeves and that train! The fabric looks so good on her skin. To be honest, not much of a fan of the bodysuit but hey she is nailing it. She looks fierce and angelic.

Chinese actress Yang Ge in Bulgari.

First of all, can we take a moment for the hair-do? Love those swirl bangs. The dress sports this interesting cut in the neckline, it’s so unique, and it’s growing on me. Dark and mischievous, I’m all for this look.

Asian-American fashion blogger Jessica Wang in Tony Ward.

Not gonna lie this yellow puts a huge smile on my face, its amazing! I know the cut of this dress is something we’ve seen before, but you know what I still love it on her. The draping, the ruffles on the sides, and the train, uff! And that embellishment peeking through the neckline, so gorgeous. Also, a moment for those strappy golden heels!

African Model Leila Depina in a golden sequinned slip dress.

Oh, God! She looks like a greek goddess in this dress. Love her hair and accessories too. Even though the dress is very daring with that high slit, she makes it look so effortless and serene. She is glowing and that is a picture-worthy outfit, right there!

Russian actress Elena Lenina and her anti-gravity hair-do.

Well, to be honest, this straight-up reminds me of Marge from the Simpsons but in a good way. Elena is known for sporting daring and unique hairstyles on red carpets. We love the creativity and I’m all for seeing such creations. I wonder what the inspiration was. The dress is definitely overshadowed by the hair but that’s okay too, the hair is the focus in this look.

Actress Tilda Swinton in Schiaparelli HC.

This outfit she wore was for the “Les Olympiades” screening at night. The oversized shirt and trousers sit perfectly on her. Also, that upright swirl hairstyle is just the perfect topping for this look, reminds me of a vanilla cupcake.

Charlotte Gainsbourg and her mother Jane Birkin in Saint Laurent and Celine.

Oh how we love a suit moment, the mother-daughter duo knew how to style it effortlessly. Love how Jane incorporated her suit with the tie-up cream blouse and that messy hairstyle with bangs. Charlotte added a belt with a golden buckle, and that vest layered inside is a smart touch to it. Definitely love the deep plunge V-neck and her wavy dark hair. I’m telling you this might just be my favorite.

Brazilian model Sofia Resing in Nicolas Jebran.

This lime green dress is loud and we’re loving it. Definitely a show-stopper one. She looks amazing but those heels aren’t doing much for me. Anyway, with a dress like that whose gonna look at your heels, right?

Marc Piasecki/Getty Images

American model Taylor Hill in Etro.

Hotness alert! This lace gown, okay I can’t stop staring at her. Modest high-neck in the front, steaming lace-up at the back. Thank God the hairstylist gave her an up-do.

Tilda Swinton in Haider Ackermann and Timothée Chalamet in Tom Ford.

I don’t know why but this picture looks so pleasing to the eye. Timothée looks great in the silver suit, and Tilda, just wow! That color blocking and those sleeves, what an amazing piece. I am swoon!

Jodie Turner-Smith in Gucci with co-star, Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja.

This is just fun! I love Jodie’s corset bodice but not so sure about the dark-colored bustier cups. But oh! that train saves it. Amazing ombre technique with the feathers.

French singer-songwriter, artist, actress, and model with Lou Doillon the Gucci heart.

Okay, the dress is amazing but let’s first talk about the silver Gucci heart. I’ve never seen that before, like what? She has a golden heart, Nah! Silver heart it is! The dress is another piece of art in itself, the furry sleeves, accordion-pleated skirt with beautiful draping, oh and that strappy bodice, this dress is a killer!

Model Elisa De Panicis in Eman Alajlan.

This is a trench coat, yes I didn’t see that at the first glance. Crafted from beautiful mustard-golden silk fabric, this trench coat ain’t your average one. Her vibes give me a camp-style for an everyday look, love the sunglasses, hate the heels.

Daniele Venturelli/Getty Images

Supermodel Bella Hadid in Schiaparelli.

I think this outfit was the talk of the town. So, she wore a neckpiece made from gilded brass and adorned with rhinestones. What’s striking is that the neckpiece becomes the top, and it’s shaped like a pair of lungs. What an amazing creation, how do they come up with such creativity? Oh, and the dress definitely sat well with such a low-neck cut and simple silhouette.

Sharon Stone in Dolce & Gabbana.

Okay, at first glance I’m all for this dress. Not gonna lie, I do love the florals, and tulle body, but I don’t know why I feel like it’s a bit too much. I mean this dress would look awesome on a photoshoot spread somewhere in the forest, just not doing it for me on the red carpet. But Sharon looks amazing with her dark-lined eyes.

Josh O’Connor in Loewe.

I love how casual and unique at the same time this outfit is. The pants are amazing, we all love a pair of black converse. But man! That pink shirt with vest design on it, like what? So cool and chic.

Influencer Fatima Almomen in Rami Kadi.

Love the color of this gown but the red carpet isn’t doing any good for it. The bodice of the dress is beautiful, a little skeptical on the ball gown skirt with a slit.

Samir Hussein/Getty Images

Izabel Goulart in Etro.

Etro is definitely sweeping in this time around. Look at this gorgeous set with bandana-inspired mesh fabric. I love the fluffy hem and the intricate design of the sequins. I can see this set in multiple variants of colors and I want them.

What did you think? Let us know which one was your favourite. Mine was Tilda’s color-blocking sequinned sleeves outfit, can’t just shake it off my head. Might dream about them tonight.
